James Rollins Obituary

James A. "Jim" Rollins, age 79, of Broadview Heights passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Loreta); loving father of Jimmy "Jimbo" Rollins (deceased), Renee Manross, Carolyn (Kim) McMullen, and Marlene (James) Haas; cherished grandfather of Eric Rachita, Douglas Manross, Sarah Rachita, Macie Manross, Gavin Haas, and Ian Haas; dear brother of Richard (Lynn) Rollins and Kathy (Jeff) Shupe; loving uncle of many. 

Jim was born on August 8, 1940 in Mount Pleasant, PA to the late John and Margaret (nee Durik) Rollins.  He graduated from Parma Senior High School and went on to proudly serve his country as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army’s 101stAirborne Division, where he received a badge for expert marksmanship. After 30 years with LTV Steel, Jim turned his love for the outdoors and passion for hunting and fishing into Hinckley Outfitters & Rollins Taxidermy Studio, a successful business he owned and operated until his retirement in 2018. Jim was regarded as an accomplished world-class hunter who guided many excursions throughout the U.S., Canada, and Africa.  

Jim had a strong Christian faith, a selfless personality, and found joy in spending time with his family and friends. A respected gentleman, his kind heart and generous spirit will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.  

Family and friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 4 pm-8 pm. A celebration service of Jim's life will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2 pm at Brecksville United Methodist Church, 65 Public Square, Brecksville, Ohio 44141. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery for veterans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested in Jim's name to InCare Hospice, 600 E. Smith Rd., Medina, OH 44256 or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at https://donate.lls.org/lls/donate
