Laszlo Bojtos Obituary

Laszlo Bojtos went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at home in Brecksville.  He was one week shy of his 90th birthday.  Beloved husband of Georgianna for almost 65 years, cherished father of Dr. Anita Bojtos Luksa (Jeff) of Brecksville and Barbara Johnson (Tony) of Hudson, and loving grandfather of Vivien Luksa, Erik Johnson and Eva Johnson.  Laszlo was born in Vadosfa, Hungary March 2, 1931.  He came to the United States with his wife after the 1956 uprising in Hungary as a political refugee.  As a Registered Architect in several states, he designed numerous residential, educational, ecclesiastical, institutional and commercial buildings, as well as worked on several historical preservation projects.  Deeply committed to the ideals of freedom that fueled the 1956 Uprising in Hungary, he was the guiding spirit behind the founding of the Hungarian Communion of Friends.  After the fall of Communism in Hungary, Laszlo worked tirelessly toward creating opportunities for Hungarian diplomatic, political and commercial interests that would help Hungary transition from Communism to a democracy and a market economy.  Laszlo is best known in the Hungarian-American community for his faithful service over the past 28 years as Honorary Consul General of Hungary.  He loved to travel in the States as well as throughout Europe returning to his beloved Hungary frequently. Laszlo was an avid reader, phenomenal chef and gracious host, however what he cherished most of all was his family.  Rest in peace Papa! And we will "Keep the Spirit'' until we meet again!
